Steering a Satellite: RSCC will provide opportunity to steer its satellite constellation at international Russia EXPO forum and exhibition

Russian Satellite Communications Company participates in the international Russia EXPO forum and exhibition, which started at VDNKh on November 4 and will run until April 12, 2024. It is noteworthy that the expo opens and closes on remarkable dates for the space industry: on November 4, 1967, the RSCC was founded, and on April 12, 1961, the first manned space flight took place.

The event was unveiled with a visit to the stands of RSCC and VGTRK, which are part of the World of Digital exposition of the Ministry for Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Bella Cherkesova and Director General of RSCC Alexey Volin attended the ceremony.

RSCC presented an interactive model of its own satellite constellation. This model helps to understand what parts is the satellite comprised of and how the satellite communication works; you can try to steer any of the 12 satellites of the company, which right now are circulating at an altitude of more than 35 thousand kilometers in geostationary orbit. RSCC satellites cover almost the entire territory of Russia, as well as 81.4% of the Earth's surface, providing people from 58 countries with a range of telecommunication services. These include TV and radio broadcasting, broadband Internet access and maritime connectivity: 500 ships already use the company's services.

“Our country is now developing many academic, infrastructure, social and IT projects that can improve the lives of millions of people. The international Russia EXPO Forum and Exhibition helps to highlight them, gather them in one place and show how rich our culture and science are. Visitors can get acquainted with the specific details of various production facilities in an interactive format, try themselves as engineers, technologists, designers. For example, at the stand of RSCC, it is possible to provide the population of the country with TV broadcasting services, design a satellite and launch it to the desired position in orbit using a game model,” said Alexey Volin at the event opening. Also, the Director General of Russian Satellite Communication Company gave an interview to the TV channels “Izvestia” and OTR.

89 regions of the country, federal ministries and agencies, corporations and public organizations are represented at the international Russia EXPO Forum and Exhibition.
