Absolute competitiveness of the Russian industry: RSCC General Director Alexey Volin summed up the results of the ICC "Satellite Communications" for 2024

Industry’s critical infrastructure facilities are using the domestic software, solutions for managing orbital systems have been implemented, the first post-sanctions mission control centers have appeared, and Russian modems have started working. The total economic effect of import substitution projects implemented within the Industrial Competence Center has already exceeded 1.5 billion rubles. General Director of RSCC, Chairman of the specialized ICC Alexey Volin spoke about the successes in the development of particularly significant projects at the ICC Demo Day in Kazan. The event took place on April 3-4 and has brought together key industry representatives.

"The number of domestic mobile satellite complexes produced ran into thousands, and they are absolutely competitive. Its mass production is the most important priority and one of the key elements of the country's technological sovereignty. Currently, there is such a stable demand for portable complexes that factories producing these devices work in three shifts without days off. We estimated, that enterprises that have mastered this area have provided an economic effect of over 1 billion rubles," added Alexey Volin.

In addition, tests are being conducted and hubs for VSAT networks are being finalized. A domestic conditional access system is being tested: its implementation and the first economic results are expected by the end of the year, General Director of RSCC summed up.
