Governor's attention to space communications: RSCC General Director Alexey Volin discussed with the Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory the elimination of digital inequality in the region

By the end of 2024, nine small settlements of the Khabarovsk Territory will be connected to the Internet with the help of RSCC. This was stated by RSCC General Director Alexey Volin at a meeting with Dmitry Demeshin, Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergey Abramov, Acting First Deputy Chairman of the regional government, Evgeny Demin, Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the region, Pavel Mikitas, his deputy, and Alexey Babeshko, Director of the Khabarovsk Space Communication Center (SCC). The meeting was held on November 8 at the branch of RSCC – SCC Khabarovsk.

The RSCC is actively involved in the program to eliminate digital inequality in the Khabarovsk Territory. With the help of its satellites, seven settlements in the region are connected to the Internet, two more will join before the end of 2024. In addition, RSCC provides on-air digital broadcasting and satellite TV distribution throughout the Far East. Communication and Internet on board fishing ships in the Sea of Okhotsk are also present thanks to our work, Alexey Volin shared.

During the meeting, the Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Acting First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the region, Khabarovsk Minister of Digital Development and Communications, as well as his deputy got acquainted with the teleport facilities. Alexey Volin shared the company's plans for the development of SCC Khabarovsk: very soon the territory of the center will be expanded and will become one of the test sites of the enterprise.

We offer our colleagues, operators to locate their stations here and, using the capabilities of RSCC, to test their own developments. In addition, the new site will allow us to place our new communication systems and control stations, Alexey Volin noted.
