United Industry: experts will discuss import substitution in the domestic space communications sphere at the Demo Day of the ICC «Satellite Communications»
On April 4, in Veliky Novgorod, RSCC organize a Demo Day of the Satellite Communications Industrial Competence Centre (ICC), where industry experts will discuss the results of the center's work in 2023 and tasks for the future. Representatives of large telecommunications companies and small startups, manufacturers of satellites and equipment, scientific institutes, as well as government authorities, will attend the event.
Alexey Volin, Chairman of the ICC «Satellite Communications», General Director of RSCC, will talk about the stages of implementation of all key projects of the center. Yuri Urlichich, Chairman of the Council of the Association of Satellite Communications Market Players, Adviser to Director General of RSCC will moderate the plenary session. Among the speakers of the plenary session are Sergey Masalov, First Deputy General Director of Gazprom AIT Facility LLC, Evgeny Nesterov, General Director of JSC «Reshetnev», Pavel Cherenkov, General Director of JSC «Gonets Satellite System», Alexander Pavlov, General Director of Russian Information Technology Development Fund (RFRIT) and other industry experts. The speakers will discuss how to achieve technological sovereignty under the conditions of sanctions by developing domestic solutions, maintaining the openness of the economy and refocusing on the markets of friendly countries. Experts will also consider solutions that have proven viable and promising in 2023.
Replacing foreign developments with Russian analogues in general remains one of the main tasks in almost all sectors of the economy. In October last year, it became known that a total of 216 projects of industrial competence centers were approved, 13 particularly significant programs were implemented, selected among more than 560 companies from 17 industries. Among the priority areas of work of ICC «Satellite Communications» are projects for the production of fully domestic spacecraft, maintaining the smooth functioning of ground-based control systems, creating Russian user terminals and introducing precise point positioning technology in the field of agriculture. All these issues will be addressed by the participants of session 1, moderated by Evgeny Buydinov, Deputy Director General of RSCC.
The session 2 will focus on the creation of new domestic IT solutions and the production of equipment. The speakers will talk about the formation of the digital landscape and the creation of promising antennas for satellite communication systems. The moderator of the discussion is Pavel Tatarenko, Deputy Chairman of the relevant ICC and IT-Director of RSCC.
