Ministerial-level space communications: Maksut Shadaev, head of the Ministry of Digitalization, visited the RSCC stand at the Russia Expo

On 20 December, Maksut Shadaev, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, familiarized himself with the interactive model of the satellite constellation of Russian Satellite Communications Company at the international Russia Expo.

Alexey Volin, Director General of RSCC, made a presentation for the head of the Ministry of Digitalization to explain the operation of Russian communication and broadcasting satellites. He used RSCC’s interactive installation to show how the company's satellites are used to broadcast TV signals, provide broadband Internet access and communication at mobile sites in Russia and 58 countries around the world.

"We are successfully implementing the objectives of the Ministry of Digital Development to provide the residents of even the most remote and northern regions of Russia with TV broadcasting, communications and internet services. For example, in 2023, three RSCC satellites (Express-103, Express-AM5 and Express-AMU7) were used in the projects of the Ministry of Digitization to address the digital divide. This year we have connected 80 settlements, next year we are going to connect 50 more," said Alexey Volin, Director General of RSCC.

The Minister also took part in the presentation of the test area of the promising communication technology and a discussion on the development of the industry in Russia.
