On the high seas with satellite: 480 ships operating in RSCC maritime network

Already 480 ships, including 27 ice-class vessels, use VSAT solutions of Russian Satellite Communications Company. Now even more crews and passengers will be able to use modern telecommunication services of the company, said Mikhail Glinka, Head of the Department for Sales of Operator and Corporate Solutions of RSCC.

RSCC delegation presented the company's services at one of the largest events of the maritime industry of Russia and CIS countries — the NEVA international exhibition and conference. The event is taking place from September 18 to 21 in St. Petersburg.

"With the ongoing development of the maritime fleet and marine transportation, it is now more important than ever to provide seamless high-rate maritime connectivity. With the help of VSAT-services of RSCC it is possible to unite ships into local corporate networks, use IP telephony and Internet, receive important telemetry, cartographic and navigation data, exchange them with the central office, dispatcher consoles and ships, receive TV and radio signals. We at RSCC highly appreciate that already 480 vessels use reliable solutions of our company", said Mikhail Glinka. The switching among RSCC satellites is seamless, with the company's constellation covering 99% of water areas of our country, as well as the Arctic, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Within the framework of the exhibition, RSCC delegation discussed the prospects of cooperation with the representatives of Poseidon LLC and held meetings with potential customers who are interested in the company's telecommunication services.
