Highly useful satellite: RSCC presented to the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Aleksandr Kurenkov the possibility of quickly arranging satellite communications on Sakhalin

RSCC, together with REIS SC and Poseidon LLC, demonstrated the operability of the satellite terminal based on domestic solutions to Aleksandr Kurenkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters.

As part of the demonstration of the technical solution, on July 25, a video conference was held from the territory of the V.A. Polyakov Search and Rescue Unit in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The videoconference was organized via Express-AMU3 using a SNARK-100 portable satellite station and the ground-based infrastructure of the Zheleznogorsk Central Space Station.

“Satellite communication is a highly important element in emergency response and saving human lives. The available domestic solutions make it possible to quickly organize it almost throughout Russia using RSCC orbital constellation,” said Evgeny Buydinov, Deputy General Director of the company. The participants of the demo videoconference also discussed the possibilities of further cooperation.

Compact portable satellite communication systems SNARK-100R can be quickly deployed in the field for elimination of natural disasters, geological exploration, on tourist routes, for shift workers. The system deployment and guidance take 10 to 15 minutes, and the kit weight is about 30 kg.
