Looking in the same direction: Alexey Volin, General Director of RSCC, speaks in Federation Council about options of public private partnership in near space exploration

On November 28, Alexey Volin, General Director of Russian Satellite Communications Company, addressed the Federation Council Committee on economic policy. At the round table dedicated to attracting private businesses to the exploration of near space, he spoke about matters where public companies can interact with private space business most productively.

The infrastructure spheres is among them. For instance, RSCC space communication centers can be engaged in the interests of new constellations. Alexey Volin added that it is important that each new participant does not try to make receiving equipment of their own, otherwise there might be chaos in the market where every satellite will be linked to its own receiving equipment incompatible with others, which will be totally inconvenient for the consumer. Unification is vital in this matter, and RSCC are ready to take part in this process.

The organization of a universal platform for satellite services is the second area for dialog. "The consumer is now sophisticated and wants to get all services in one place. That is why we need an open platform, through which the client could get the full range of necessary services," added the General Director of Russian Satellite Communications Company.

The third area for partnership is joint access to foreign markets. RSCC operates in 58 countries and has a lot of established contacts and contracts through which promising new collaborations can be achieved.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Federation Council, the expert council on improving the legislative regulation of the space industry, as well as public and private enterprises.
