RSCC maritime VSAT network getting bigger – 400 vessels now use satellite communications

VSAT-solutions make it possible to unite company's vessels into a unified private corporate network, use telephony and Internet, promptly exchange information between the head office, dispatcher desks and ships, implement continuous monitoring services, receive map information, and in some cases - TV and radio signal.

The technology of seamless switching between RSCC satellites helps to provide 99% coverage of Russia’s water zones, as well as those of the Arctic, Atlantic, and Pacific oceans.

"The U.N. Human Rights Council indicated Internet access as a basic human right as early as 2016. Therefore, it is so important to provide people who spend several months away from land and familiar life with a decent level of media consumption and communications. And this is one of the priorities of Russian Satellite Communications Company: ever more ships are joining the VSAT network of RSCC. We will continue to provide them with affordable, high-quality communications and Internet wherever they may be," said Alexey Volin, Director General of Russian Satellite Communications Company.
