The XI VSAT-2019 Championship took place in the Skolkovo SCC

Konstantin Noskov, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, opened the championship. In his speech he emphasized the importance of satellite communications in these words: “The whole world is vigorously marching towards a digital future. This is especially true for our country, where there are many locations, where satellite communications will always be needed and will certainly continue to expand. In this area of operations, we have been a leading power, and will remain one.”
The head of the Federal Communications Agency (Rossvyaz) Oleg Dukhovnitsky addressed the participants of the Championship with a welcoming speech. “The Championship is the only industry competition where the capabilities of VSAT technology are clearly presented. Its main goal is the promotion of satellite broadband services in Russia as an affordable technology that allows you to cope with the task of bridging the digital and information gap and expand options available to the citizens in the digital services sector”, said the head of Rossvyaz.
In his message of greeting RSCC Director General Yuri Prokhorov, noted: “It has been a good few years that we have met each other at the site of the RSCC in connection with such championships. Of course, this is an opportunity for specialists to meet face-to-face, shake hands, make new acquaintances, and ask questions. We do hope that this good tradition will continue.”
The Championship was held in two stages: competing in the high-speed making of patch cords and cables and in high-speed installation of VSAT Hughes equipment. Results were summarized after each stage and the finals. In the all-round team competition, the bronze went to Yaroslavl Compact Parabollik team, the silver to Sky-OneSatellite from Moscow, and the main winners of the competition were the guys from Telecom-Service team (Krasnoarmeisk, Moscow region). At the end of the competition, the winners and special prize winners were awarded. The RSCC prize was awarded to the team “Compact Parabolics”, which took third place.
