RSCC top executives took part in the Federation Council round table on developing a digital economy and building a publicly available Internet
The event was attended by Vyacheslav Timchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy; Oleg Dukhovnitsky, Head of the Federal Communications Agency; Oleg Ivanov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications; Yuri Urlichich, First Deputy General Director of Roskosmos State Corporation; RSCC General Director Yuri Prokhorov and his first deputy Alexander Ganin; General Director of JSC Gazprom Space Systems Dmitry Sevastyanov. Also present were members of the FC Committee on Economic Policy, heads of federal departments and relevant organizations, representatives of the expert community.
In his speech, Aleksey Dmitrienko, host of the event, noted that the development of the digital economy is based on the need to solve the most important national tasks outlined in the Message of the President of the Russian Federation to the Federal Assembly, the Strategy for the Development of the Information Society in the Russian Federation for 2017–2030, and the Strategy for Russian Scientific and Technological Development. Vyacheslav Timchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee, stressed that the issues of creating a legislative base and supporting Russian information technologies are under the constant attention of the Federation Council.
Yuri Prokhorov, the RSCC general director, made a presentation on the topic “Development of public information and telecommunication systems for satellite communications and broadcasting.” In his presentation, he spoke about the main activities of the RSCC, as well as about the project of a multifunctional communication system based on the use of the Express-RV spacecraft in HEO.
