For itself and for the others: RSCC opened a new site at the Zheleznogorsk Teleport for prospective spacecraft and services to Roscosmos operators

Site №2 at the Zheleznogorsk Centerone of the six teleports of RSCC has become a new key element of the ground-based satellite infrastructure in eastern Russia. The new cluster will enhance the capabilities of RSCC future orbital constellation and simultaneously provide the complex's facilities to other space companies. Alexey Volin, RSCC Director General, revealed this information at the opening of the site at the Zheleznogorsk Satellite Communications Center on March 5.

“The project was implemented taking into account the future needs of the space industry. Acting proactively, right now we are creating all the conditions for the high-quality operation of our new geostationary satellites to replenish the fleet in 2029-2030. At the same time, other satellite operators can also benefit from the infrastructure of the new site, which allows them to implement projects in a short time, reducing risks and unnecessary expenses," — underlined Alexey Volin.

The technical base of the cluster provides data transmition, communication channels backup in case of failures, connectivity and control services for new satellite systems, as well as spacecraft’ tracking and monitor . These teleport services are in demand: RSCC and JSC RESHETNEV have signed a contract for locating here the elements of the Satellite Communications Center of the Express-RV system. Aslo an agreement was concluded on placing here regional communication station Gonets-M1.

One of the RSCC's priorities remains to eliminate the digital divide in Russia. The new site based on the SCC in Zheleznogorsk will expand RSCC partners' capabilities to provide satellite connectivity and broadband internet access in remote areas of the Russian Federation, including the Arctic region.
