On 12 April 2016, the Space Day, the A.S. Popov Central Museum of Communications in St. Petersburg inaugurated a philatelic exhibition, "Space Communications". The exhibit is organized with support of RSCC and dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the first manned flight into outer space.

The prime section of the exhibit, "First in Space", displays domestic postage stamps, and stamps of various countries, devoted to Yuri Gagarin, as well as preparatory pre-issue materials. A separate section of the exhibit covers the history of space communications as shown on domestic postage stamps.

The exhibit is supported by RSCC whose association with the Museum goes back a long way. RSCC helps the A.S.Popov Museum organize scientific and educational events, marking important events in the history of communications. In 2015, with support of RSCC, the Museum hosted celebrations to pay tribute to military communications personnel on the Military Signalman’s Day. The Museum hosted the fifth National Conference of communications museums devoted to "Significant Dates and Events". It also published the sixth edition of the book entitled "The Great Patriotic War in Postage Stamps" from the series "Military pages of the history of communications: from the collections of the A.S. Popov Central Museum of Communications”. Currently, efforts are under way to digitize the Museum holdings. The purpose of these projects is to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the communications industry.
