Via Satellite: RSCC Launches Ka-band Broadband Services with Express AM6 Satellite

The Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) has started offering broadband services in Ka-band using the Express AM6 satellite.

The high-speed Internet service uses Express AM6 at 53 degrees east, as well as Express AM5 at 140 degrees east, which covers territory from Kaliningrad to Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky in Russia with a total length of about 7,000 kilometers.

RSCC began offering Ka-band satellite broadband in the spring of 2015 using domestic spacecraft in Russia’s Far East and Siberia. Since April 2016, the service area of high-speed satellite system expanded to include the country’s Central and Southern Ural regions.
