SАTCOMRUS 2020, the XXV anniversary international conference of operators and users of Russia’s satellite communication networks, took place online in October 2020. The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, the Federal Communications Agency and the Roscosmos State Corporation. Over 400 specialists from Russia, Great Britain, USA, Canada, Israel, Italy, France, Indonesia, Nigeria, India, and Azerbaijan took part in the digital conference.
Last week, the movers and shakers within the Russian space industry gathered virtually at SatComRus to talk about the future for satellite in Russia, and what the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic will have on this landscape. Oleg Dukhovnitskiy, Head of the Federal Communications Agency (FCA) in Russia said that satellite communications plays a big role in governance and communications in Russia, and that availability of data is the basis for a better quality of life.
