RSCC transfers Express АМ3 to 103˚E orbital slot
Express АМ3, formerly operating from the 140˚E orbital slot, will replace the Express А2 satellite.
After the active communications and broadcasting networks operating at 140˚E have been successfully switched over to the new Russian ExpressАМ5 satellite, the Express АМ3 that was providing services from that slot since August 2005 has been moved to the 103˚E slot. It will replace the Express А2 which will be transferred to RSCC’s 145˚E slot to protect Russia’s orbital-frequency resources.
Regular operations of Express АМ3 in its new orbital slot have commenced on June 4, 2014.
