FIDAE-2018 aviation and aerospace trade show opened in Santiago, Chile on April 3, 2018. The RSCC is participating with its exhibit for the first time.

Among the topics of interest to visitors of the RSCC stand are prospects for setting up dedicated satellite networks and securing access to information resources based on the assets of the Russian Express-AM8 satellite, as well as broadcasting major sporting events, including the matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, to Latin American countries using the infrastructure and experience of the RSCC.

In an interview to local media, RSCC Deputy General Director for Business Development Kseniya Drozdova noted that the capabilities of the Russian satellite constellation are already known and used in the countries of Latin and South America. For example, in the summer of 2017 the RSCC arranged broadcasts of the Confederation Cup matches featuring the Chilean national team for one of the local Chilean television companies.

"In addition, we intend to offer the use of our satellites to set up communication links from Latin America to South Africa, and, as a highway, to Southeast Asia," she said.
