RSCC at CSTB-2016 International Exhibition/Forum: Development of satellite-supported TV in the current economic environment, and new broadband access satellite services to bridge the digital divide

From 26 – 28 January 2016, Moscow will be hosting the CSTB-2016, an international exhibition/forum, where RSCC and its partner companies have prepared an intense business program for the exhibitors and visitors. This year, a joint exhibit will be organized by the satellite operators including RSCC and Eutelsat, and such service providers as Isatel, Raduga-Internet, Iskra Design Bureau (the “Strij” brand) the Altegro Sky group of companies. Acting together, they will be presenting a service which is in line with one of the most promising trends of today’s telecoms – the broadband access in the Ka-band.

The joint exhibit will offer expert information about the fastest satellite-supported Internet and will help find out how ‘traditional’ satellite services in the Ku-band differ from the latest Ка-band technologies, and what is the dynamics and prospects for new services relating to satellite broadband access in Russia.

The exhibit will also provide data on the new communications and broadcasting satellites launched in 2015, including the Express-AMU1.

RSCC’s leading experts will be participating in the discussions at the Forum devoted to changes affecting the domestic TV and radio market:

  • Ksenia Drozdova, RSCC Deputy-CEO for business development, will speak at the CSTB Forum Round Table on the “New TV and telecoms business model in the context of falling incomes” (26 January 2016, 12:00, Conference Room 1);
  • Sergey Plotnikov, Director of RSCC Department for information and communication technologies and multimedia services will participate in the Forum Section entitled “Development of the Russian market for broadband access and multimedia technologies. Expanding the range of satellite TV services” (26 January 2016, 15:00, Conference Room 3);
  • Lyudmila Mikhailina, Chief, RSCC Unit for TV and international sales, will talk about the completion and outcomes of the RSCC’s input in the Federal Target Program “Development of TV and radio broadcasting in the Russian Federation in 2009-2018” (27 January 2016, 11:00, RSCC stand).

Traditionally, RSCC has acted as a partner for the “Bolshaya Tsifra” (“Big Digit”) national award, and RSCC representatives have sat on the expert jury and  participated in giving the awards to winners. This time the ceremony will take place on 27 January 2016 at 19.00.
