Express-AM8 under control of RSCC specialists following successful launch

According to reports from the RSCC specialists, the Express-AM8 control is proceeding nominally. At this time, the SC solar arrays and antennas have been deployed, attitude control thrusters are now ready for service, the spacecraft is oriented toward the sun, and the payload control unit has been enabled. 

For the duration of orbital testing, the Express-AM8 will be positioned at 80.15oW. Testing will be conducted by ISS Reshetnev with support from Thales Alenia Space – France, using the RSCC technical facilities and its specialists.

Commissioning of the Express-AM8 at the 14oW orbital position is scheduled in December 2015.
