Express-A2 to be translated to disposal orbit
On 26 October 2015, RSCC began transferring the Express-A2 satellite to the disposal orbit. The move is due to exhaustion of the fuel on board the spacecraft.
The Express-A2 satellite has been used by RSCC to provide communications and broadcasting services at the 145˚ E, 103˚ E, and 80˚ E orbital slots.
The Express-A2 was orbited on 12 March 2000 for a predicted seven-year service life.
RSCC plans to translate to the 145˚ E slot one of the currently operational satellites.
