On August 24, 2019, the town of Zheleznogorsk (Krasnoyarsk Territory) was the scene of a bicycle / motorcycle rally marking the 15th anniversary of the Zheleznogorsk Satellite Communications Center, the 60th anniversary of JSC Information Satellite Systems named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev, and the 20th anniversary of the Zheleznogorsk chidren’s home.
The event was attended by the chidren’s home residents, employees of the Zheleznogorsk SCC and residents of Zheleznogorsk. A column of cyclists was supported by members of the local community of bikers. Participants in the rally drove around the town and made a stop on Victory Square. At the end of the event, all cyclists were given souvenirs and ice cream.
The Zheleznogorsk Satellite Communications Center, a subsidiary of the RSCC, was established in 2004 as the Company’s stronghold in the eastern part of the RSCC satellite constellation. The SCC's official birthday is May 27, 2004. Currently, the technical complex of the Zheleznogorsk SCC controls and monitors communication satellites in the geostationary orbit from 32 ° to 154 ° E, supports acceptance tests and payload monitoring of the RSCC satellites, and acceptance tests of VSAT network user stations. It also coordinates broadcasts of all-Russia digital television and radio programs in the Far East and Siberia.
