Connected by a single goal: RSCC summed up the year's results and set new tasks for import independence and new spacecraft

The company has retained its leading position in the domestic satellite market, with a 63% share. Revenue for 2025 exceeded 15 billion rubles, labor productivity amounted 14 million rubles per capita per year. Alexey Volin, RSCC Director General, revealed these feagures at the company's annual internal meeting on February 26 in Skolkovo.

RSCC's net income for the year has reached approximately 3.5 billion rubles. Revenue from value-added services has increased, bringing the company over 4.6 billion rubles. RSCC provides communication services in 62 countries. The coverage of the maritime VSAT network has expanded: today, 74% of all Russian marine vessels are connected via satellites operated by RSCC, 121 ships were added to the network this year.

Alexey Volin outlined the orbital constellation's development prospects. The Express-AMU4 satellite is being constructed. In 2025, tenders were held to build four telecommunications satellites: Express-AMU6, Express-40, Express-AMU51, and Express-AMU52. All satellites are expected to be manufactured by the end of 2029. This is the largest order for geostationary satellites in the world for 2025, and it is comparable to almost the entire procurement volume of other global operators, who have contracted six medium and large geostationary satellites.

As a result, a new satellite development cooperation was formed, which includes more than 20 manufacturing companies. Significantly, RSCC has created a transparent IT-control system that allows tracking order fulfillment at any stage of work and enables cooperation participants to work within a single environment.

A separate topic of the meeting was the discussion of the dynamics of import independence from foreign software and hardware: 95% of the entire RSCC infrastructure has already been converted to domestic solutions. The company makes the independence and competitiveness of its internal software developments a priority. Testing of new Russian satellite equipment has been organized at the Bear Lakes teleport (RSCC subsidiary).

"Our testing center, which was established at the Bear Lakes, tested 20 devices and equipment sets last year. Currently, all the industry's solutions for import independence, which related to space communications, are tested at this site. The laboratory has been retrofitted this year, so we plan to have more tests," said Alexey Volin. He also added that, based on the test results, satellite modems, HUBs, antennas, receivers, and power amplifiers were modified and ordered by market players.

The RSCC’s teleports - Space Communications Centers (SCC) - have been modernized: investments in the SCC's infrastructure in 2025 amounted approximately 1.3 billion rubles. Some of the centers also had their territory expanded. The new sites allow for the deployment of both in-house ground complexes and operator satellite stations for joint testing. Site No. 2 at the Bear Lakes (SCC) in Zheleznogorsk will be commissioned in early March.

Deputy General Directors also presented reports on the progress of their respective areas of work. Deputy General Director Vasily Sychev reported on the upgrade of satellite constellation of RSCC and collaboration with manufacturers on the design of future satellites. Pavel Tatarenko, Deputy General Director and Head of the Information Technology Service, presented the digitalization plan for RSCC: the company has already saved 472 million rubles on the implementation of operational and business support systems (OSS/BSS) through in-house development. Deputy General Director and Head of Contractual and Procurement Services Ekaterina Troitskaya shared the results of overall cost savings achieved through competitive procedures and procurement efficiency at RSCC.

RSCC's plans and objectives include establishing ground infrastructure for new satellites and expanding its business in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia. The company will continue to work on import independence and developing domestic satellite communications equipment.
