The Central Museum of Communications in St. Petersburg hosts a photo exhibition to mark the anniversary of the RSCC: "50 years in orbit: the history of space communications"

The opening ceremony on October 25, 2017, was attended by the RSCC General Director Yuri Prokhorov and Deputy Head of the Federal Communications Agency Igor Chursin.

The exhibition includes historical and modern photo and video materials illustrating the evolution of the industry and dedicated to the achievements of Russian Satellite Communications Company over its half-century history. The exhibition also contains a thematic section "Philately", boasting unique postage stamps issued to mark landmark dates and events in the history of Russian cosmonautics and the satellite communications industry.


Among those invited to the opening ceremony of the exhibition were representatives of the Administration of St. Petersburg, leading telecommunications companies and satellite operators, enterprises and universities of St. Petersburg, and regional and sectoral media.


In his greetings to guests and participants of the event, RSCC General Director Yuri Prokhorov thanked the staff of the Popov Central Museum of Communications for many years of cooperation and the effort to set up the exhibition. He handed to the Museum's management the model of the Express-AM5 satellite, to be on display in the section devoted to space communications.

Burdin, vice-president and director of the macro-regional branch "North-West" A.V. Balatsenko, director of the Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Communications of the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation A.R. Bestugin, head of the exhibit department of the A.S. Popov Museum T.S. Vasilyeva. The rector of the State University of Aerospace Instrumentation Mrs. Yu.A. Antokhina also sent a congratulatory message.


The photo exhibition "50 years in orbit: the history of space communications" in the Central Museum of Communications in St. Petersburg will be open until November 25, 2017.
