From March 12 to 15, the largest international conference and exhibition, Satellite 2018, will be held at the Walter Washington Convention Center in Washington, USA, which the Russian satellite communications operator, the Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC), traditionally attends. The RSCC exhibit will feature communication, broadcasting and data services based on the capacity of the Express-AM6, Express-AM7, and Express-AM8 spacecraft. Such capacity will be used to broadcast the games of the forthcoming World Cup 2018.
RSCC will launch an exhibit at Andina Link, one of the main industry exhibitions in Latin America. The Andina Lik will be open from 6 to 8 March 2018, and its principal theme will focus on the possibility of using the new Russian satellite Express-AM8 to provide broadcasting and telecom services which are in high demand in the region.
The award ceremony in the field of satellite communications, Telesputnik Awards, established by the reputable Telesputnik Publishing House, will be held for the first time on April 25, 2018 as part of the business program of the Sviaz-2018 exhibition (Moscow).

From 14 to 16 January 2018, Dubai (United Arab Emirates) will be hosting CABSAT-2018, the annual exhibition-conference event. The event is dedicated to broadcasting technologies and the media industry in the Middle East region, where the Russian satellite operator RSCC has been providing communication and broadcasting services for over 10 years.
In conjunction with AO Pervyi Kanal ("First Channel") and RTRS (Russian TV and Radio Network), RSCC mounted massive efforts to prepare the transmission of the above address via the RSCC satellites using six additional television streams of the Pervyi Kanal in the odd time zones of Russia.
This project is being implemented in a test mode using the capacity of the Express-AM5 spacecraft. The signal is uplinked from the RSCC’s Khabarovsk satellite communications control center using the capacity of the Ka- / Ku-bands.
The meeting participants discussed the initial results of the use of the Ka-band on Russian satellites, the impact of new TV broadcasting standards on the use of the satellites controlled by the operators in the RCC participant countries, and the need to simplify registration procedures for satellite earth stations on the CIS countries.
On 23 November 2017, awards were given to leaders of the Russian ICT industry during a gala ceremony in Moscow. The Russian Satellite Communications Company was nominated in the Basis for the Development of Television and Radio Broadcasting and Implementation of Government-Funded Projects category.
The jury of the IXth National Award for Advancing Satellite, Cable and Internet TV, the Golden Ray, noted the outstanding contribution made by the Russian Satellite Communications Company to the development of the Russian satellite broadcasting and telecommunications.

The RSCC and the European company Chronosat GmbH have signed a contract stipulating an increased use of RSCC’s Express-AM7 satellite capacity by the European company. The contract was signed at AfricaCom 2017 (Cape Town, South Africa) as part of the business program. Attending the signing ceremony was Oleg Dukhovnitsky, Head of the Federal Communications Agency.

November 3, 2017, in the Memorial Museum of Astronautics in Moscow, an exhibition "Satellite Communications: 50 years in orbit" was opened to mark the anniversary of the RSCC, Russia’s satellite operator. Taking the floor at the opening of the exhibition with words of welcome were the RSCC General Director Yuri Prokhorov, the Cosmonautics Museum Director Natalia Artyukhina and Hero of the Soviet Union, Pilot Cosmonaut of the USSR Alexander Laveikin.
The 22nd annual conference "SatComRus 2017" was the main event in a series of events timed to the 50th anniversary of regular satellite television broadcasting in our country, and the emergence of one of the largest satellite operators in the world.
The opening ceremony on October 25, 2017, was attended by the RSCC General Director Yuri Prokhorov and Deputy Head of the Federal Communications Agency Igor Chursin.
The Expert Council of the industry award in the field of television development has rated highly the successful implementation of the Program of Upgrading the RSCC Satellite Constellation in 2009-2015, which has elevated to a qualitatively new level the federal broadcasting in digital format in Russia. The Russian satellite communications operator was given the award in the nomination "For achievements in the field of telecommunication technologies".
The Conference will crown a series of events timed to the 50th anniversary of regular satellite television broadcasting in our country and the establishment of the Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC), Russia’s satcom operator.
