The National Project "Education”: Internet access for Russian schools and colleges

The Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) pays much attention to promote information technologies in the Russian educational institutions. Within the context of the national project “Education” implemented by the Russian Government RSCC provided 128 kb/c Internet access to 7 thousand schools and colleges in 62 regions all across Russia.

Analogue-to-digital conversion of federal TV&radio broadcasting

On the 16th February 2005, RSCC started All-Russian digital TV & Radio broadcasting via the new Express-AM1 (40E) satellite in the frame of the Federal stage-by-stage analogue-to-digital conversion program. Up to now the program package was distributed using the Express-A1R satellite. The digital package is packed in the RSCC's Shabolovka Technical Center. It consists of All-Russian TV & Radio programs "Pervy kanal", "Rossiya", "Kultura", "Radio Rossii", "Mayak", and "Yunost".

Project for Renovation of Russian National Satellite Constellation

In the context of the Federal space program, Project for Renovation of Russian National Satellite Constellation provides for production and launching of five new generation "Express-AM" series communications satellites into geostationary orbit within 2003-2005. The satellites have improved performance characteristics.
