RSCC offers to telecom operators on a tender basis capacity in Express-AM1 European beam

27.11 : 2007

In connection with planned capacity deallocation in the 1st Quarter 2008 in European beam  D1 and D4  transponders  of  the Express-AM1 (40 East) satellite, RSCC offers to telecoms operators on a tender basis capacity for TV-broadcasting and VSAT networks.

In order to establish communications channels in the above transponders RSCC recommends  to use the earth station equipment  having the following characteristics:
D1 transponder: minimum 1.8 m earth station antennas are to be used on the Western Europe territory;  earth station antennas in the Middle East region are to be increased to 2.4 m.
D4 transponder: this transponder is advised to be used in SCPC (single carrier) mode, for example, for broadcasting  TV-package or for establishing VSAT networks outbound channels. Such signal can be received on the territory of  Western Europe by means of
0.9 m to 1.2 m antennas; on the territory of Eastern Europe and the Middle East using 1.8 m antennas. The transmitting earth station is to be equipped with 5m to 7m antennas with 80 to 85 dBW EIRP. In  MCPC  (many carriers) mode it is essentially to provide in the above transponder operation of  an powered Earth-Space  station. The earth station EIRP spectral concentration is to be minimum +2-4dBW/Hz.

Requests for the capacity are to be sent  to the electronic address: mglinka@rscc.ru . The subject of the letter: Express-AM1, tender. The required capacity, proposed price for 1 MHz and leasing term for the capacity requested are to be given in the request.

Transponder technical characteristics:
D1 Transponder:
- Intermediate frequency in Earth – Space line 14 031.25 MHz, linear vertical polarisation;
- Intermediate frequency in Space – Earth line 11 481.25 MHz, linear horizontal polarisation;
- D4 Transponder:
- Intermediate frequency in Earth – Space line 14 093.75 MHz, linear vertical polarisation;
- Intermediate frequency in Space – Earth line 11 543.75 MHz, linear horizontal polarisation;
