The new Russian Express-AM3 satellite is scheduled for launch on 24 June 2005

The new Russian Express-AM3 (140 East) broadcasting & communications satellite - the fifth of the Express-AM series - is planned to be launched on 24 June 2005. The satellite was developed on order of RSCC to meet the tasks on establishing presidential and governmental mobile communications, providing the customers in Siberia, the Far East and Asia-Pacific with up-to-date and reliable satellite communications as well as with digital TV and radio broadcasting services.

The Express-AM3 satellite will be launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on board the Proton-K rocket. Upon completing in-orbit tests and checking all onboard systems the new satellite will complete the RSCC satellite constellation at 140 East orbital slot.
