On 29 December 2003, the Express-AM22 communications and broadcasting satellite was successfully launched from BAIKONUR launching pad. It is expected to deploy the spacecraft at 53 E. GEO. Different satellite systems were tested during 01 - 10 January 2004. The tested systems are orientation system propulsion, station-keeping accuracy units and back-up systems, on-board digital computer, main and back-up power supply and thermal control systems, T.T.N.C. and etc. No drawbacks were detected in the satellite on-board units during the testing. In addition, RSCC is finalizing the negotiations to sell 16 transponders of Express-AM22. The satellite is expected to enter operation 1st March, 2004.
