13.10 : 2003

On the 10th September 2003, pursuant to a Decree issued by Ministry of Property Relations of the R.F., RSCC obtained satellite system previously owned by BONUM-1 ZAO. The satellite system consists of BONUM-1 spacecraft (56 E, GEO), receiving and transmitting Earth Stations located in Moscow (Ostankino), Moscow vicinity (Odintzovskiy region), and in Yekaterinburg. RSCC has given employment to all personnel of BONUM-1 ZAO since the 1st October, 2003.

BONUM-1 satellite is now the 11th spacecraft in the RSCC orbital fleet. The SKOLKOVO Satellite Communications Center (The RSCC Subsidiary) will be based on the technical facilities handed over to RSCC on the 10th September, 2003.

RSCC is assuming obligations under the contracts concluded by BONUM-1 ZAO to ensure continuity of BONUM-1 operations over the whole coverage of the satellite. It is expected to use available BONUM-1 capacity for TV/radio broadcasting (expanded Ku-band DTH services) and broadband Internet access.
