On the 20th of December 2002, Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) held direct broadcasting of the Concert dedicated to the 5th anniversary of "The War Fraternity Movement" - The All-Russian Social Movement of the veterans in local wars and war conflicts.
The Government of the Moscow Region organized the Concert held in the Column Hall of The House of Unions in Moscow. The broadcasting of the Concert was brought live to the area of deployment of the 46th brigade of the Russian Federation internal armed forces in the Republic of Chechnya. In the course of the Concert, a spacebridge was set up between military regular soldiers, officers deployed in the North Caucasus and their relatives in Moscow.
RSCC had been a project integrator and used its own "Express-A1R" satellite 40 E to execute the said project. "Mir" - Intergovernmental TV broadcaster - had rendered great assistance in the Concert broadcasting by providing Fly away stations for the purpose of the project.
RSCC had demonstrated great multimedia capabilities of the new Russian spacecraft. The Fly away stations operating via up-to-date RSCC satellites, may be deployed in a very short space of time and virtually under any conditions. The stations are used to ensure live situation reports, to set up spacebridges and to hold videoconferences.
