Geneva, Switzerland, 25 October 2011 – During the ITU Telecom World 2011, Russia’s national operator Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) signed a long-term contract with Earthly Orbit, a UK satellite solution provider, for capacity utilization of the Russian Express AM44 satellite. Earthly Orbit will be providing communications services in the Middle East using the Ku-Band capacity of Express AM44 position in 11°W.
RSCC has announced an insurance tender for the following satellites: Express-AM1, Express-AM2, Express-AM3, Express-AM22, Express-AM33, Express-AM44, Express-MD1 and Express-MD2

On September 30, RSCC has announced an open tender to select an insurance company and procure in-orbit insurance for Express-AM1, Express-AM2, Express-AM3, Express-AM22, Express-AM33, Express-AM44, Express-MD1 satellites. An open tender has also been announced to procure launch and in-orbit operation insurance for Express-MD2.
